Basco Paints has announced that it has relaunched its Zawadika Na Marangi program to allow painters to redeem loyalty points for money.

The initiative has been relaunched to help painters survive as the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to ravage the country.

The initiative can be done through the mobile app and USSD platforms, through which painters using Android phones can now download the Zawadika Na Marangi app from the Google Play Store or dial * 338 # on any location. which phone with a Safaricom connection to register. They can then be rewarded with points for any purchase of Duracoat products that they can redeem through Mpesa to improve their financial well-being.

“At Basco, we recognize the important role that painters play in our business as they are important partners in our value chain and therefore we want to lessen their financial burden by urging them to enroll more in this program and to earn points that they can turn into mobile. money to use in these difficult times, ”said Kamlesh Shah, Managing Director of Basco Paints.

The MD said the initiative will apply to more than 80,000 painters nationwide who are enrolled in the Zawadika na Marangi program, as they will be able to use their virtual money (loyalty points) to redeem for Safaricom M-pesa.

Painters will also be able to redeem from as little as Ksh. 800 to pay their utility bills and airtime. This will come as a respite for thousands of painters who are likely to have a hard time as many people turn to shopping for their basic needs for fear of the uncertainty over the rise of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
