EY, Optus and Macquarie Group have emerged as the top three companies to work for in Australia for career growth, according to LinkedIn.
Compiled from data examining the career paths of millions of professionals around the world, LinkedIn said it wants the guide to help professionals navigate the world of work.
ResMed, Commonwealth Bank, Bosch, Woolworths Group, IBM, Amazon and Google rounded out the top ten companies on the list, which LinkedIn spokesperson Capucine Yeomans said reflected the changing business landscape.
In the top 25 companies, there is a strong representation from professional services, finance, and retail, and there has been an increase in medical device and tech companies on the list as they respond to challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have seen unprecedented changes in the world of work, and despite the extraordinary challenges, companies are putting people first more than ever,” said Ms. Yeomans.
“The best companies have shown great resilience and continue to focus on creating great career opportunities with flexibility in the workplace.
“Young professionals can use the list of top companies in a very practical way, to find the best workplaces to advance their careers and see what positions are open at these companies.
“It’s important to find a work environment that allows you to advance your abilities, develop your skills and encourage diversity.
“In addition, the 25 companies are now hiring.”
Ms Yeomans said that EY was the only major consultancy that did not announce large-scale job cuts during the height of the pandemic contributed to its success.
“(And), in a year where parent company Optus broke a national record for 5G download speeds, new CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin cited something else as his main achievement: increasing staff engagement by 16 percent. “said Ms. Yeomans.
“Optus recently launched a new program giving staff the opportunity to study at Macquarie University, Latrobe University and AGSM UNSW Business School to develop in emerging areas including customer experience, data and analytics, and automation. ”
Companies have been ranked according to seven pillars that lead to career progression: ability to progress, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity and training.
“The best companies choose to focus on the well-being of their staff – offering things like flexibility and recognizing that the pandemic has been difficult for many working parents, and women in particular,” Ms. Yeomans said.
LinkedIn’s analysis also found that Commonwealth Bank’s commercial bankers rate rose 850%, Amazon talent acquisition specialists were up 678%, and Macquarie Group operations associates rose 350%. .
At Woolworths Group, there has been a 200 percent increase in general managers and a 164 percent increase in personal buyers.
