An investigation into Brazil’s handling of the Covid-19 crisis has heard allegations that an official was forced into a vaccine import deal and that President Jair Bolsonaro was alerted to potential irregularities. The Senate committee is examining how the administration handled the pandemic.

Iceland has removed all national restrictions and is soon relaxing testing requirements for fully vaccinated travelers, due to the country’s high level of vaccination. Svandis Svavarsdóttir, Minister of Health, declared the requirements for mask wearing and social distancing and the limits of gatherings have been lifted.

Symptoms of adverse mental health conditions were more prevalent among U.S. public health workers spending more time on Covid-19 response activities or working long hours, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The researchers interviewed 26,174 employees between March 29 and April 16.

Daily coronavirus cases in Fiji have more than sevenfold since the start of the month, with a health minister attributing the outbreak to the highly transmissible Delta variant. Cases have skyrocketed in recent weeks, from 37 on June 1 to 308 on June 24. Fourteen people are now deceased.

The Latitude Music Festival will be allowed to operate at full capacity this summer after being enrolled in the government event research program. Latitude, founded in 2006, typically accommodates around 35,000 people. It is scheduled to take place July 22-25, three days after all remaining lockdown restrictions are expected to be lifted across England.
