SYDNEY, Australia, July 19, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Lithium Power International Limited (ASX: LPI) (“IPV“or the”Company”) Is pleased to provide an update on the activities the company undertakes in Western Australia. LPI will begin an extensive exploration and drilling program through WA’s lithium concessions, particularly those immediately adjacent to the Greenbushes lithium mine, owned by Talison Lithium, comprised of the Albemarle Corp property, Tianqi Lithium and from IGO Limited.

Blackwood Prospect – Detailed Magnetic Survey

The Blackwood prospect, in E70 / 4774, south of two properties owned by LPI, lies on the coincident regional magnetic and gravity structure (Figure 1) that contains the Greenbushes pegmatite mined by Talison. This major geological feature is part of the Donnybrook shear zone (“DSZ”). Pegmatites are known to be placed along structural pathways on major faults, and the Greenbushes pegmatite is located along the northwest subsidiary structures of the DSZ.

These subsidiary structures are essential for the location of ore bodies in the Blackwood prospect (Figures 3 and 4). The sampling and detailed study of the geophysical data, as well as the planned detailed magnetic survey (ultra-high magnetic line spacing of 40 m), which will be carried out by a drone flyover in September, will make it possible to locate the structures at the ‘Perspective scale in the Blackwood perspective to facilitate borehole targeting. on potential blind pegmatite bodies.

As previously announced, LPI collected samples throughout the DSZ. The flush pegmatites in the DSZ at the Blackwood perspective (Figure 2) have high contents of lithium (253 ppm), rubidium (2048 ppm) and tin (95 ppm), and mafic host rocks are anomalous in arsenic (110 ppm) , which conforms to the Greenbushes model. These pegmatites are considered to be distal phases of an LCT mineral system, and the higher grade potential phases are recessive.

Prospect East Kirup – Wildlife Survey and Drilling

The initial 1,600m RC drilling program is scheduled on the East Kirup prospect for the fourth quarter of 2021. The schedule for this drilling program is to comply with the Company’s approved Conservation Management Plan (CMP) on this perspective, which is in the state forest. The CMP places limits on drilling or any other activity requiring heavy equipment during wet seasons. These limitations are intended to counter the risk of the decline flora spreading over the entire area.

This zone exhibits a four kilometer longitudinal lithium-tantalum-niobium-tin-arsenic anomaly as defined by surface geochemical sampling along the DSZ.

RC drilling will be carried out along existing tracks that extend perpendicular to the trend of the DSZ and the defined anomaly (Figure 5). Approval for 1600 m of this work has already been granted with a work program for another 1600 m pending approval.
