Pinsent Masons has hired Penningtons Manche Cooper’s Head of Banking and Finance in Madrid to join the firm’s finance practice in the Spanish capital.
José Millán Martín will lead the UK-based law firm’s financial services practice in Madrid in November, the firm told Law.com International.
Millán Martín’s practice ranges from acquisition finance to corporate, structured, project and asset finance, margin lending, debt refinancing and restructuring.
As a partner at Penningtons Manche Cooper, Millán Martín led the banking and finance team in Madrid for just over a year. Before joining Penningtons in 2021, he worked at EY, Linklaters, Allen & Overy and Uría Menéndez, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Millán Martín’s hiring at Pinsent Masons comes after the company announced this summer the launch of a Luxembourg office, initially focused on financial services. Sixteen lawyers and seven partners joined the Luxembourg office following the firm’s opening of a office in Amsterdam and tax office in Madrid Last year.
